Connection Points: Konrad Wachsmann Reconsidered Exhibition

Hollywood, CA

This exhibition examined three projects by the architect Konrad Wachsmann, focusing on the detailed methods of assembly inherent in the work through the use of digitally derived drawings, models and animation. This study focused on his extraordinary ability to examine the technological advancement of building structures, focusing on three that projects represent a study of the problem of the joint, or connection. Drawing from extensive Wachsmann archives in Berlin, the projects were recreated as digital and 3d print models, allowing for a dynamic reexamination of these projects. The study creates a new documentation of Wachsmann’s work for future research in applied and theoretical structural systems.
